GM's overhaul

General Motors has laid out a sweeping plan to restructure its company through plant closings, job cuts and brand reductions, in its push for additional financial help from the government.

GM said it will listen to offers to spin off or sell its Saturn brand, and if it can't do that, will phase it out after 2011. It will also decide Hummer's fate by the end of March, has put Saab up for sale, and will turn Pontiac into a niche brand, with fewer products.

What do you think of GM's plans and its decisions about its brand lineup?
