Welcome to the frustrating world of Canisius women's basketball.
After notching important road wins at Marist and Fairfield, the Golden Griffins were plain bad in a 55-44 loss at Saint Peter's on Monday.
The Griffs shot just 22.6 percent from the game, though coach Terry Zeh seemed more disappointed in his team's inability to defend.
With that loss, Canisius remains tied with Fairfield for second place in the MAAC, each with 11-4 records. The Griffs have three games remaining -- all at home.
And while that No. 2 seed for the MAAC tournament would mean not having to face Marist until the championship game, it does come with one major drawback. The No. 2 seed plays at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6 in the quarterfinal round in Albany.
