>Woman reports purse stolen from Falls bar

NIAGARA FALLS -- A woman's purse was stolen from a crowded Niagara Falls Boulevard tavern at closing time, police said Sunday.

The victim, a Karen Drive resident, told police there were 50 to 60 people in Evening Star lounge at about 2 a.m. when her purse turned up missing. The purse contained a credit and debit card in addition to about $300.


>Traffic violations lead to arrest in car theft

NIAGARA FALLS -- A 15-year-old car theft suspect was taken into custody in North Tonawanda early Saturday after a series of traffic violations, police said.

Police said the teen was operating a 1993 Mercury that had been stolen from the 500 block of Seventh Street earlier in the day. Police impounded the vehicle pending further investigation. The owner, a Walnut Avenue woman, reported the car missing just before 10 a.m. Saturday.
