I really don't understand the concept of the ESPN Bracketbusters. The games give some mid-majors a dose of national exposure, but they do nothing to help mid-majors make their case for at-large inclusion in the NCAAs. UB (No. 80 in the RPI) has little to gain in its assigned game against Vermont (No. 112). Niagara (No. 70) won't soar in the minds of the committee with a victory over No. 62 Illinois State.
You want real bracketbusters? Pit the teams in the mid-major rankings against those from the middle of the pack in the BCS conferences. And play them at neutral sites, as is the case in most NCAA tourney games. UB/Niagara versus Kentucky, for instance, would be far more revealing than the charade the NCAA/ESPN (they are one in the same, no?) conducts.
