BASEBALL: Milwaukee Brewers scout Don Fontana will conduct the third annual Catcher's Pre-Season Camp on Feb. 28 at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Tonawanda for youth league age catchers from 9-11 a.m. and high school catchers from noon-2:30 p.m. Registration information is available at www.goldglovebc.com. . . . The Blue Jays Baseball Club will hold its seventh annual exhibition series near Cooperstown for high school varsities in the spring. They are also holding tournaments for summer teams ages 13 to 18-under. Night games and day games on Doubleday Field are possible. BASKETBALL: Rob Ray and the Buffalo Sabres Alumni will play the faculties of the Big Tree, Blasdell, Cloverbank and Pinehurst elementary schools Thursday at Frontier High School at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 and the proceeds will benefit Cradle Beach Camp.

FIELD HOCKEY: Clinics for perspective officials are Feb. 19, 24, 26 and March 2, 4 from 6:30-8:30 pm. at Erie 1 BOCES, 355 Harlem Road, Building B, Room 2B. Call Lois at 592-5333.

HOCKEY: Tryouts for the Buffalo Hornets mite and squirt divisions are next month. The Mites are at the Bud Bakewell Rink on March 16 at 5 p.m. and March 18 at 5:15 p.m. Contact Tony Filippi. OFFICIATING: The Niagara Frontier Officials Association has elected officers for 2009: President Richard Pino, Vice President George Markey, Treasurer Dennis Ferris and Secretary Steve Overbeck.

SKATING: As part of the Winterfest Program, the South Park Youth Association is sponsoring the annual free open skate for all ages on Monday from 2-3:30 p.m. at Cazenovia Ice Rink. There will be refreshments and prizes.
