>Deputies charge Olean man with giving false name

An Olean man was arrested for repeatedly giving police a fake name when he was asked to identify himself, Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies reported.

Pierre N. Morgan, 24, was charged with false personation, a misdemeanor, after deputies stopped a car in which he was a passenger on South Union Street at 10:14 a.m. Saturday and asked Morgan to identify himself.

Morgan kept offering a false name, sheriff's deputies reported.

Morgan was arraigned in City of Olean Court and was being held in the county jail on $500 bail, police said.
