>Power equipment stolen from Wheatfield business

WHEATFIELD -- Two engines, four gas-power trimmers, a generator and a power shovel broom were stolen from a machine shop in the 2200 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard sometime Saturday afternoon or early evening, police said.

The burglary was discovered Saturday evening after a man driving by the business noticed two front glass doors had been smashed, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office reported.

The shop owner told deputies the stolen equipment and the damaged door were worth more than $2,656.

Deputies believe the suspect smashed the glass doors by driving or backing a vehicle into the building.
