>Online scavenger hunt to benefit City Mission
The Buffalo City Mission this month is hosting a free, online scavenger hunt intended to educate people here about the issue of homelessness.
Through the end of the month, anyone 18 or older can register on the Web site www.hungerhunt.com and answer questions about homelessness and poverty. People who answer correctly earn chances to win daily prizes and collect points toward two larger prizes that will be handed out at the end of the month.
The grand prize is a dinner for two, a limousine ride and a one-night stay in the Buffalo Niagara Marriott, Amherst. The runner-up will receive two tickets to a Buffalo Sabres game and a one-night stay in Adam's Mark Hotel.
Area companies donated the daily and end-of-the-month prizes.
The scavenger hunt is part of the City Mission's "Feed the Hungry Campaign," which seeks to raise money to underwrite the cost of serving meals to the poor and homeless.
Hungerhunt.com is sponsored by Tops Markets, GEICO, KeyBank, Noobis and InfoTech Niagara.
