Woman says ride home from bar ends in rape

A woman told police that she was raped early Saturday by a man who she thought was going to give her a ride home from a bar.

The victim said she met the man at a bar on Jefferson Avenue sometime between 11 p.m. and midnight. She told police she asked him for a ride home and he agreed. She got into his car, which she described as tan in color and possibly a Ford Taurus. As he began to drive, she told him he was going the wrong way. The man told the woman he had to make a stop. He then drove her to an unknown location where he attacked her.

The woman got out of the car and walked six blocks before flagging down a taxi, which took her home. She then called 911 at 1:15 a.m. and was taken by Rural/Metro Medical Services ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where she was treated.
