Indoor track

The University at Buffalo's men's 4x400-meter relay team claimed first-place in the New Balance Collegiate Meet at the 168th Street Armory in New York. The Bulls finished in 3:16.24 in the New York-New Jersey race, just touching out second-place Binghamton (3:16.56). Highlighting the women's finishes was senior Fatimah Hill, who was second in the long jump with a season-best leap of 19-9 1/2 , a quarter-inch behind North Carolina's Ashley Hill.



St. Bonaventure (7-4) won all but one event on Senior Day at the Reilly Center Pool, defeating Niagara, 177-65. Clayton Coleman (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly) and Chris Baker (100 backstroke, 200 individual medley) were double winners for Bona.


Women's hockey

Annemarie Cellino (Nichols) and Anna McNally each had a goal and two assists to lead No. 3 Middlebury (12-1-4) past host Buffalo State (2-13-4), 5-1, in a non-conference game. Grace Waters (Nichols) also scored for the visiting Panthers. Kristin Bozek (Hutch-Tech) netted the lone goal for the Bengals.


Kent State handed the University at Buffalo a 31-7 defeat at Alumni Arena. the Bulls had only two winners. Desi Green triumphed, 16-5, over Jeremy Depoy at 149 pounds, and Nate Rock recorded a takedown against Chris Estep in the third extra period for a 4-2 win at 174 pounds.


Men's basketball

A rebound basket by Romair Parrett (Kensington, Niagara County CC) with 1:19 capped a 23-point outing for him and gave D'Youville a 76-74 victory over visiting Cazenovia. Charles Walker (Amherst) had 14 for the Spartans.


Women's basketball

D'Youville dominated the boards by a 63-28 margin in rolling past Cazenovia, 64-50. Christine Halter (19 points, 12 rebounds) and Holly Beats (15 points, 19 boards) led the way for the Spartans, who have won nine of their last 11.
