When the Canisius men's basketball team took the floor Friday night, the players were all sporting new hairdos. Mohawks to be exact.
It was a team-bonding, team unity gesture that the majority of the players did together last night.
"I found out about it at shoot around today," Canisius coach Tom Parrotta said. "This team is so close and they want to win so badly. This is a sign of how close they are. I remember doing this on a good Fordham team when I was a senior in college because everyone was so tight with each other. I think it's a show of 'we're all in this together' and that they're going to keep battling. It's what young people do and it speaks volumes of how together they are win, lose or draw."
Unfortunately for the Griffs, the new hairdos didn't bring a win. Canisius lost its fourth-straight, 65-51, to Fairfield.
