>Bills Field House hosts Hunter's Day of Hope
The 11th annual Hunter's Day of Hope for Children, hosted by Hall of Fame Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly and his wife, Jill, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Bills Field House at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park.
The event, which marks the birthdays of Kelly and his son, Hunter James, who lost his life to Krabbe leukodystrophy in 2005, is free and open to families and children of all ages. It includes music, dancing, games, face painting, prizes and free refreshments. It concludes with a prayer for all children. For information, visit www.huntershope.org/events.
>Agency has grants available for emergency home repairs
The Niagara Community Action Program has grants available for emergency home repairs for qualified rural Niagara County residents who own their own home.
Repairs include roofs, furnaces and hot water tanks. Other repairs can include handicapped accessibility, such as wheelchair ramps, lifts and kitchen and bathroom modifications.
Homeowners must meet income eligibility guidelines and other program criteria to qualify for grants. Call Niagara Community Action Program's Rural Preservation program at 434-4679 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for more information.
