>Company's employees give $5,000 to Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels for Western New York has received a $5,000 donation for its capital campaign from the employees of American Coradius International, an Amherst accounts receivable company that represents banks and finance companies. The donation will help Meals on Wheels complete a 27,000-square-foot commissary, scheduled to open this summer.
A committee of the company's employees decides each quarter which local charity to support. Brian Peek, the company's chief executive officer, serves on the board of directors at Meals on Wheels.
>Historical Society recruiting volunteers
The Newstead Historical Society is looking for some helping hands. Volunteers are needed to help assemble and design the quarterly newsletter, to reorganize and clean the Octagon House and to research and create new displays in the Knight-Sutton Museum. Those interested should call 542-7022.
