Today was East's first very tough test in the Yale Cup, and they were very impressive in a 76-64 home win over Riverside.
The Panthers played particularly well, including some good work on the defensive end, in a third quarter during which senior leader Henry Mingo was out with foul trouble. Dallas Gary hit the 1,000-point mark as he and Domonique Jackson had fine offensive games.
I'll have more details as the night goes on -- I'm working on a bunch of stuff right now.

The scores have been posted. Our apologies on the delay.
Yes, that's Niagara Catholic beating St. Mary's, 59-57. The Patriots' first win in Monsignor Martin action comes against a small school that is coming three straight wins over large schools -- St. Francis, St. Joe's and Canisius. I suppose we should expect this sort of thing in a crazy season like this one, but that was a shocker.
Also, unfortunately it seems that Mark Coppola's injury has not allowed him to play; Coppola was cleared to practice earlier in the week, according to Williamsville South coach Al Monaco. Still, South has a lot of good players, so it's a fine 55-50 win for Lake Shore. The Eagles returned some quality components from last year and here they are at 11-4 and 7-1 and in the race for ECIC II.
