Mary C. Pauly, who was active in church and local charities, died of pneumonia Sunday in her Buffalo home. She was 86.
Born Mary O'Connor in Salamanca, she was a longtime Buffalo resident and a graduate of D'Youville College.
She was a member of the Canisius College Scholarship Association, a volunteer with WNED-TV and a member of the Country Club of Buffalo.
Mrs. Pauly was chairwoman of the Women's Division in the 1982 Buffalo Catholic Diocese Catholic Charities Appeal and associate chairwoman of the division from 1979 to 1981. She was a member of the Bishop's Council of the Laity and was a lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
She was a past member of the Seton Guild of Sheehan Memorial Hospital, the Women's Board of Millard Fillmore Hospital, the Buffalo Philharmonic Women's Committee, the Buffalo Club, the Twentieth Century Club and Brookfield Country Club.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Pat, Martha, Bernadette Heins and Louise, and three brothers, John, James and Joseph O'Connor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 200 St. Gregory Court, Amherst.
