>Passenger hurt when Jeep rolls over into ditch

DUNKIRK -- A Dunkirk man was injured over the weekend when the Jeep in which he was riding went off the road and rolled into a ditch, according to Chautauqua County sheriff's officials.

Joshua A. Estep, 24, a front-seat passenger, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, deputies said.

The driver, William Makuch, 23, of Dunkirk, was eastbound on Williams Street at about 11 p.m. Saturday, when a deer ran in front of the vehicle as he was nearing an S-curve in the road, officials said. Makuch and another passenger, Jonathan Erick, 22, of Fredonia, were treated at the scene.
