4 more adult clinics set for flu vaccination

OLEAN -- The Cattaraugus County Health Department has set up four more adult clinics to dispense 2008-09 flu vaccine to the public in the following times and locations:

*10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, former Foot Locker in the Olean Center Mall.

*9 a.m. to noon Monday, East Otto Town Hall, 9014 East Otto-Springville Road.

*10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nursing Office of Jamestown Community College Cattaraugus Campus, 260 N. Union St.

*1 to 4 p.m. Thursday,, Gowanda Pharmacy, 41 W. Main St..

A $15 charge may apply for those not covered by insurance.

Pneumococcal vaccine, recommended for adults older than 65, is available for $37 or eligible insurance coverage.

Veterans agency head to speak about benefits

OLEAN -- Cattaraugus County Veterans Service Agency director John B. Sampson will meet with veterans and their families to discuss benefits, health care and other concerns in a series of sessions planned during November.

Sampson will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 6 in the Gowanda American Legion Post.

He also will be available from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 12 in the Randolph American Legion Post and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Franklinville town clerk's office

Veterans also are invited to meet with Sampson in the county's Little Valley office building from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoons -- except the third Thursday of each month.

Veterans also may visit his office in the County Building in Olean from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for legal holidays.

To confirm Sampson's availability, veterans are advised to call his office in advance at 701-3298.
