A team from Williamsville will represent the Eastern Section at the USTA League 3.0 Senior Men's National Championships in Las Vegas from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. Members of the team include David H. Wrotniak, Donald Dehoff, Thomas Galluccio, John R. Burngasser, Milton E. Hepp, Larry Smith, Stanley L. Evans and Christopher R. Smith.
FOOTBALL: A charity game between Buffalo Vets Little League Football and Alden Bulldogs Little League Football will take place from 5-9:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at on the practice football fields at the UB Amherst campus. The event, sponsored by the New York State Correctional Officer and Police Benevolent Association, is to help raise awareness of the need for universal newborn screenings.
SOFTBALL: The Western New York Fast Pitch Softball League is accepting teams in the 10-U, 12-U, 14-U, 16-U and Open Divisoins for its inaugural season in 2009. The league plans a balanced 12-game schedule and playoffs. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn/Airport on Genesee Street. Contact Paul Righetti at 725-8281.
