The New York Times and Syracuse grad Pete Thamel, is reporting that the Orange have hired a search firm to help find a replacement for Greg Robinson. Syracuse athletic director Daryl Gross denies the report and calls it speculation.
Robinson's dismissal is inevitable. Syracuse, who has a bye this week, has is 8-34 in three-plus seasons under Robinson and Big East programs like Cincinnati, USF, UConn and Rutgers have surpassed the Orange during that span. Robinson, who has a year remaining on his contract which pays him $1.1 million a season, is 2-22 in the Big East during his tenure.
