Will improved scheduling help the MAC?

Improved scheduling in the Mid-American Conference has been a mission for Rick Boyages the MAC's director of basketball operations. Using 2007-2008 rankings from RPIRatings.com, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer's Elton Alexander has established a good MAC schedule is comprised primarily by playing teams from the top 15 conferences, and by playing average to bad teams from very good conferences.

Based on scheduling, according to Alexander, eight MAC teams
have a chance to land in either the NCAA Tournament, the National
Invitational Tournament (NIT), or the College Basketball Invitational
(CBI) with a strong winning season. He doesn't believe, however, that UB will be one of them.
