>Grading the Bills

Running game: C

Lynch had another so-so game, but made some big runs in the second half when issue was decided. Edwards' 12-yard scamper was huge.

Passing game: A

Edwards showed no lingering signs of concussion, completing 25 of 30 for 261 yards. No turnovers, no sacks.

Run defense: A-

Made Tomlinson look like just another back. Linebackers had their best game of the season. Mitchell was extraordinary.

Pass defense: B

Big improvement over Arizona game. Didn't allow Chargers to beat them deep and played well enough in the quick game.

Special teams: B

Coverage units, which had been struggling, had a strong day. Lindell made the 44-yard field goal to ice the game late.

Coaching: A

Terrific in all phases. Jauron had team well-motivated. Coordinators Fewell and Schonert clearly made the most of the bye.

Running game: C-

Tomlinson had just 41 yards and no run over 9 yards. Team stats deceiving because of Jackson's 31-yard end-around.

Passing game: B-

Rivers was 22 for 29, but threw brutal pick to Mitchell and fumbled ball away twice. Bolts really missed Chambers.

Run defense: C

Stuffed Lynch early, but seemed to wear down in the second half. Couldn't make the big stops down the stretch.

Pass defense: D

Allowed Edwards to dominate the game. Couldn't stop the underneath passes and didn't get a sniff of the quarterback.

Special teams: B-

Average drive start on six kickoff returns was their own 25. Nice job downing punt at the Bills' 1-yard line.

Coaching: C

Our old pal Ted Cottrell is under fire again for his underachieving defense. Worst pass rush Bills have faced all year.
