Should You Spring for Organic?

Fruit Because organic produce is often higher priced, it is considered a luxury for many. Consumer Reports suggests prioritizing which organic items you will buy. 

It makes sense to buy organically the fruits and vegetables likely to contain the most pesticides in non-organic brands.  Consumer Reports found the following fruits and vegetables to have the highest levels of toxicity, and therefore recommends you splurge for their organic counterparts.

Fruits: cranberries, nectarines, peaches strawberries, pears, apples, cherries, cantaloupe.

Vegetables: Green beans, sweet bell peppers, celery cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes, peas, lettuce.
