Calls for Works
The Buffalo Niagara Art Association will jury for membership. Open to all Western New York artists over 18 years of age, artists must submit three works in one medium only, no photography. Label the back of each piece with name and phone number. Works should be dropped off between 10:30 and 11 a.m. Nov. 15 in the Eggertsville Library, 4622 Main St., Snyder. The collected poetry of Brother Augustine Towey is being published in a volume titled "The Poem You Asked for and Other Poems," which is due out Nov. 3. It contains almost the entire body of his previous work, plus several new poems. Director emeritus of Niagara University Theatre, which he founded some 45 years ago, Towey has authored six other volumes of his poetry.
The second annual Haunted Mansion Masquerade presented by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Western New York will take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Chillion M. Farrar House at 506 Delaware Ave. The creative black-tie event includes live entertainment by Mo Porter, food from area restaurants and more. Tickets are $100 and are available at the CF Foundation office at 4976 Transit Road, Depew, or by visiting http://wny.cff.org.
The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for floats for its Santa Claus Lane Parade, which takes place Nov. 28. Applications area available online at www.oleanny.com or by calling the chamber office at 372-4433. The deadline for submission is Nov. 7.
