Hear the story of this classic summer resort as told through words and photographs during a lecture by John B. Manbeck entitled "Swept by Ocean Breezes: A History of Coney Island." Discover why the Cyclone must never come down, at 1 p.m. Saturday at Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda (693-1885/www.carrouselmuseum.org).
3. Happy 112th, Vitascope Theater!
