Western Michigan (5-1, 3-0) at UB (2-3, 1-1)

TV: Time Warner SportsNet

Line:UB by 1 1/2

Western Michigan: Last week's win over Ohio was the 500th in school history. - QB Tim Hiller has 19 TD passes and just four INTs. - The defense has allowed 16.3 in three MAC games.

UB: QB Drew Willy made his first career start against Western Michigan on Oct. 1, 2005. Willy is 157 yards shy of becoming only the second UB QB to pass for 7,000 yards. - A win today would give the Bulls an 8-5 home record under Turner Gill.

Western Michigan might win if - Takes some shots downfield. The Broncos have good balance but can be explosive and have found some success with the long ball with WR Jamario Simmons and TE Branden Ledbetter. Defensively, if the Broncos can maintain proper gap control and force TB James Starks to run laterally, rather than north and south, they have a chance to contain the Bulls' ground game.

UB might win if - It runs the ball. Expect the Bulls to focus on moving the chains by feeding the ball to Starks. The more success the Bulls have with the ground game, the easier it becomes for Willy to throw the ball effectively. Defensively, the Bulls need to force Hiller into getting the ball out before his receivers have time to finish off their routes.

Outlook: Expect UB to run the ball and find just enough success through the air to pull out a close one. Prediction: UB 35, Western Michigan 30
