Vivian Kreitner, co-owned realty appraisal firm, sold Yule trees Sept. 6, 1922 -- Oct. 6, 2008

Vivian Kreitner, who operated a real estate appraisal company with her husband, died Monday in her Clarence home. She was 86.

A Buffalo native, Mrs. Kreitner attended schools in Kenmore and earned her degree in business administration from the University of Buffalo in 1943.

During the 1950s and 1960s, she and her husband, John F., operated Jack's Corner and Dee-Liteful Frozen Custard in Williamsville. The couple, who married in 1944, also operated John F. Kreitner Real Estate and Appraisal Co. in the 1970s and 1980s. Mr. Kreitner died in 2001.

Mrs. Kreitner also sold Christmas trees for 55 years, first in Williamsville and later in Clarence. She also was a Girl Scout leader for many years.

She is survived by three daughters, Suzanne Hale, Joanne Fitzgerald and Nancy McIver. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, 8445 Greiner Road, Clarence.
