Ceremony set Monday to open renovated gym

The public is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Monday in the George H. Miller gym at Tonawanda High School.

The ceremony culminates the completion of a $6.6 million capital project to improve and update the middle school-high school complex.

Two major highlights of the project include the complete renovation of the Miller gym along with the full reconstruction of the tennis courts by Occhino Corporation.

Both facilities are frequently used by community groups and City of Tonawanda residents.

Other renovation highlights include the replacement of the 130,000-square-foot roof and classroom upgrades.
