The schedule for delivery workers, both drivers and servers, is between 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Individuals are asked to volunteer for just 1 1/2 hours per week. Some volunteers ask to help, occasionally, on another day also.
Kitchen help is needed from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Kitchen helpers assist the cooks in making sandwiches, filling lunch bags and packaging hot meals.
To volunteer or to get more information, call 693-1663. The office and food preparation site is at 100 Ridge Road, North Tonawanda.
AIDS Community Services is recruiting people who are kind and compassionate to become involved in its Buddy Program. As a member of the volunteer care team, you will be partnered with others to provide support and friendship to people living with HIV and their families. The options are open, but suggestions include being available for conversations, reading a book together, listening to music, watching a movie. Other responsibilities might include doing some light housekeeping, snow shoveling or lawn mowing or providing short-distance transportation.
For information, call Eugene Abrahamson at 332-2268, Ext. 335. Volunteers are asked to make a commitment of one year, with one team meeting per month and approximately three hours of service per month. There is a particular need for bilingual and minority volunteers.
