Bargain hunters nationwide insist there are secret deals to be found at
Target department stores.
Shoppers swear that a markdown schedule compiled by Linsey Knerl,
a senior writer for Wisebread.com, helps them optimally time their purchases.
Knerl said Target's price-change team slashes prices on clearance items on
specific days. To maximize savings, bargain hunters will hit specific depart-
ments on those days before noon. If items are scheduled for a deeper discount,
the price will already have been changed in the computer, while employees
scramble to place price stickers. By knowing the schedule and hitting stores
early, customers can snag deals before anyone else even knows they're available.
Although Target has never officially confirmed the pricing schedule, a local
Target employee said it is accurate. Have you noticed a similar pattern? Is the
schedule on target, or have these shoppers missed the mark?
