down plates of turkey and get serious about holiday shopping.
National retail forecasts indicate the economic pressures of higher
fuel prices and mortgage market troubles will put a damper on gift-buying.
But locally, shoppers are saying they won't let economic malaise get in the
way of their present purchases.
