The Network in Aging of Western New York presented the 2007 Dr. Evan Calkins Award for Meritorious Service to David Dunkelman, president, Weinberg Campus. The award is given annually to an individual to honor lifetime contributions to the field of aging care.

Fox Run at Orchard Park, a Western New York-based organization devoted to residential senior citizen living and care, recently celebrated the opening of the community. Located in Orchard Park on 52 acres at the corner of Route 20-A and California Road, Fox Run will provide more than 250 local seniors one-and-two bedroom apartments and patio homes. These residents are guaranteed on-site assisted living and nursing care, for as long as they need, with no change in monthly fees. LPCiminelli Inc. managed the construction of the community.

Sorrento Lactalis, a Buffalo-based cheese manufacturer, has launched Plus string cheeses that include Plus Calcium and Vitamin D and Plus 100 percent Lactose-Free. Sold under the Precious and Sorrento Brand names in West and East coast markets, respectively, the Plus Calcium and Vitamin D string cheese is fortified with 20 percent more calcium than traditional string cheeses, and the additional vitamin D boosts calcium absorption.

Asti Antiques, located at 672 Niagara Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda, is being restored to its original form. Renovations include period roofing, wooden siding and painting. The renovations are expected to be complete within the next three years.
