>Man killed, 4 injured in head-on crash in Gerry
GERRY -- A Dunkirk man was killed and four people were hurt, one seriously, in a head-on collision about 7:40 p.m. Saturday on Route 60, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies report.
Jerome F. Kubera II, 27, of East Front Street, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said Kubera was southbound and was trying to pass another vehicle when he collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by Thomas J. Douglas, 21, of Sunset Avenue, Lakewood. Douglas was taken to Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, with head and leg injuries. His three passengers also were hurt.
Amy Hogg, 20, of Isabella Street, Jamestown, was listed in serious condition Sunday in the intensive care unit in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa., with head and internal injuries.
Melinda S. Albright, 20, of Corry, Pa., was treated in ECMC for chest injuries.
Jessica Lindell, 14, of North Allegheny Avenue, Jamestown, was treated in WCA Hospital, Jamestown, for hip and internal injuries. She underwent hip surgery Sunday.

SALAMANCA -- Robert Howard, 52, of Salamanca, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right Sunday after a traffic stop on Broad Street.
Salamanca police said Officer Daryl Whitcomb arrested Howard shortly after 1:15 a.m.

MINA -- In part, a Pennsylvania man can blame a turkey for his weekend arrest on a driving while intoxicated charge.
Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies said David J. Rusilko, 56, of Meadville, was arrested after a turkey slammed into his windshield and caused his car to swerve and hit a concrete post about 8 p.m. Saturday.
Deputies who found Rusilko's car in a creek bed off Route 426 charged him with DWI, failure to keep right and driving over hazard markings.
