The Help You Group is a free service for anyone interested in feeling more confident about their personal appearance and their job skill. It is held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Marvin Palanker Conference Room at WNY Independent Living, 3108 Main St., near Hertel Avenue, in the University District. Action for Mental Health, 1585 Kenmore Ave., provides services to consumers with mental-health issues throughout Erie County. The programs are designed to assist consumers in the areas of self-help, advocacy and civic empowerment education. For information, call 871-0581.

The Community Employment Office, 4 Walden Galleria, Cheektowaga, is an alliance of public and voluntary agencies, with Aspire of Western New York serving as lead agency, working together to promote integrated employment opportunities for people with disabilities. For information, call 684-3986.

Guild Care, 1170 Main St., is an adult day health program helping adults, 18 and older, with medical and vision needs to maintain independence. Its services include nursing supervision and medication assistance and teaching; personal care; dietary consultation; physical, occupational and speech therapy; assisted transportation; vision rehabilitation, social work; activities and outings, with snack and hot lunch daily. Southeast Works Center, 181 Lincoln St., Depew, offers a variety of services throughout Erie County to adults with developmental disabilities. For information, call 683-7100.

Schofield Residence offers an adult day health care program from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program is located within the Schofield Residence nursing facility at 3333 Elmwood Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Gateway Longview, a multiservice agency serving children and families, offers special education and intensive support services for children ages 3 to 21 with severe emotional, behavior and learning problems. For information, call 633-7266.

Heritage Center offers Pathways of Employment, a program that focuses on helping young adults ages 16 to 21 with mental-health concerns prepare for and enter the work force. There are several programs available for individuals with disabilities. For information, call 856-4202, Ext. 229.
