Notes from L.A.

Still in L.A. on the Summer Press Tour, and had a session with Holly Hunter, the star of the new TNT series, "Saving Grace."  She sounded almost apologetic talking about her limited knowledge of TV. Asked if she watches TV, Hunter said: "I sound like a (expletive deleted) snob, but I don't."
Tom Brokaw, the former NBC Nightly News anchor and author of "The Greatest Generation," is headlining a special, "1968 with Tom Brokaw," for The History Channel. "Garry Trudeau (Doonsebury) said, 'What are you going to call this, 'The Worst Generation?'" joked Brokaw. "It's been an emotional experience because I had to review my own life."
Brokaw also revealed that he has had extensive discussions with Ken Burns about his upcoming PBS series, "The War," and has seen it. "I think it's brilliant," said Brokaw.
