>Macedonian Festival runs Friday through Sunday

The 17th annual Macedonian Festival will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Sts. Cyril and Methody Macedonian Orthodox Church, 4785 Lake Ave., between Abbott Road and McKinley Parkway in Blasdell.

The festival runs from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

Music, dance performances, games of chance and Macedonian food, including open pit roasted lamb, kebobs and baklava, will be featured. Admission is $1.

>Sculpture and jazz to join at Burchfield Center

Art is coming to life Saturday at the Burchfield Nature and Art Center, 2001 Union Road, West Seneca.

Sculptor Kenneth Payne will prepare and pour 2,700-degree molten iron into blocks of optically perfect ice in front of an audience, while a free-form jazz group plays in time with the sounds made by the furnace used to heat the metal.

The program, called "Fire & Ice 2007: A Circus Inferno" is open to the public and will begin at 9:15 p.m. VIP tickets, which include hors d'oeuvres and cocktails beginning at 6:30, cost $50 a person or $90 a couple. For more information, call Thomas Gleed at 558-3312.
