Lazzara is elected School Board president
The West Seneca School Board has a new president. Board member Mark P. Lazzara was chosen for the post during the board's annual reorganization meeting last week, replacing the previous president, James J. Asztalos.
Lazzara previously served as board vice president. Mary J. Busse was elected vice president. Two new board members, Daniel A. Nagy and Carol A. Jarczyk, took their oaths of office.
Outgoing board member Dolores K. Mendolia, appointed to fill the unexpired term of former board member David Iwanko, was named to the district's ambassador program, where she will represent the board at various events.
Academy has waiting list in pre-K for 4-year-olds
The Catholic Academy of West Buffalo has announced that it has a waiting list for any remaining spaces in its prekindergarten class for 4-year-olds. A decision on whether to open another such class is expected to be made by Aug. 1.
Space is still available in the kindergarten class, as well as the prekindergarten for 3-year-olds. For information, call 885-6111.
