A former captain in the Blasdell Volunteer Fire Company pleaded guilty Friday to sex abuse, attempted criminal sexual act and child endangerment charges for having inappropriate contact with minors.
Robert W. Fulsom, 28, remains free on $35,000 bail pending his Sept. 18 sentencing.
Erie County Judge Sheila A. DiTullio warned him he will not be getting the minimum 3 1/2 -year prison term for the crimes. The victims were three girls and a boy, ages 7 to 17.
Prosecutor Mary Beth DePasquale argued unsuccessfully that Fulsom be incarcerated immediately.
Fulsom most recently worked as a driver for the Frontier School District, delivering supplies.
He is no longer a member of the volunteer fire company.
Fulsom was accused of having inappropriate contact with minors -- at times in the company's firehouse.
