A Salamanca man faces up to three years in prison for grand larceny following sentencing Monday in Cattaraugus County Court.
Jorge N. Torres, 19, was sentenced by Judge Larry M. Himelein to serve one to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny. Torres stole over $1,000 worth of items in the Town of Salamanca on May 1, 2006.
District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey said Torres was also sentenced to a concurrent six months in jail for his conviction of obstructing government administration Aug. 13 in the City of Salamanca.
In other court action:
*Randy J. Kenyon, 29, of Franklinville, was sentenced to a two-year term in prison and to one-year post-release supervision for his conviction of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Kenyon was found guilty of selling cocaine April 25, 2006, in the City of Salamanca.
*Michael Eschborn, 35, of Gowanda, was sentenced to serve four months of weekends in jail and five years' probation for his conviction of failure to register with the state as a sex offender Sept. 30, 2005.
Sharkey said the conviction is a felony, as Eschborn previously failed to register his address change with the state sex offender registry.
*David Schoch, 45, of Kill Buck, was sentenced to four months of weekends in jail, five years' probation and restitution for his conviction of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree sale of marijuana Dec. 19, 2005, and Feb. 6, 2006, in the Town of Great Valley. Several others pleaded guilty.
*David B. Benton, 42, of East Aurora, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired by drugs and fifth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance Feb. 2, 2006, in the Town of Yorkshire. Sentencing will be Sept. 24.
*Tyler Burdick, 17, of Cattaraugus, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny in April in the Town of New Albion.
Sharkey said Burdick and several others entered a building and stole several guns.
*Freddie L. George, 25, of Olean, pleaded guilty to DWI and driving without a license May 13 in the City of Olean.
George also pleaded guilty to violating terms of a probation sentence. Sentencing for both crimes was set for Sept. 4.
