Rep. Charles B. Rangel, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Dr. Helene D. Gayle, president and CEO of CARE, will headline the 28th forum and luncheon of Women for Human Rights and Dignity.
The two will give video presentations during the luncheon for the forum to be held July 14 at the Millennium Airport Hotel.
Presenters at the event include the Rev. Gloria E.E. Payne-Carter., of St. Philip's Episcopal Church; Dr. Henry L. Taylor, professor of urban and regional planning at the University at Buffalo; Dr. Jeffrey Grace, clinical director of psychiatry at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center; Gabrielle Threet, youth representative; Eugene Meeks, president and CEO of Child and Family Services, and Erie County Judge Rosalie S. Bailey.
People and organizations getting awards for disrupting the damages of poverty will be: Carolyn B. Thomas, a founder of the Buffalo Food Bank; the Rev. Darius Pridgen; Good Neighbor Health Clinic; Thomas McLaughlin, executive director of the Buffalo City Mission; Florence Baugh, former School Board member and community activist; and Harvest House.
