Multiple charges filed after drug raid
A Buffalo couple faces numerous drug charges after Buffalo police raided a South Buffalo home and found as much as 3 pounds of marijuana and other drugs, police reported.
Michael S. Tornabene, 24, of Richfield Avenue, and Carly Fazio, 19, of McClellan Circle, were charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal nuisance, unlawful possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.
The arrest of Tornabene and Fazio concluded a six-month Buffalo police investigation into drug sales in South Buffalo, according to Michael J. DeGeorge, Buffalo police spokesman. Neighbors tipped off the police to the drug activity, leading to the search warrant for Tornabene's upper apartment at 60 Richfield. Officers raided the apartment at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Besides the marijuana, police also seized small packages of cocaine, drug pipes and scales, as well as about $6,500 cash.
