The Pomfret Town Board has called a special meeting at 4 p.m. June in Town Hall to take final action on the proposed local law regulating wind energy conversion system installations.
The Board made this decision at its regular meeting Wednesday, following a public hearing on the proposed law.
At the public hearing, Town Attorney Jeffrey Passafaro made a few suggestions on how to tighten up some of the language of the proposed law. This resulted in Supervisor Donald Steger commenting, "We still have more work to do on this law."
Moreover, the town still is waiting for the Chautauqua County Planning Board's referral notice regarding the proposed law. The board hopes to receive this by the day of the special meeting. The moratorium on wind energy systems in the town ends June 25.
