>Pennsylvania teen dies, 2 others hurt in crash
SUGAR GROVE, Pa. -- A Sugar Grove teen died Tuesday afternoon when the sport utility vehicle she was driving crashed on Swede Hollow Road.
Gloria Vanord, 16, was eastbound at about 3:30 p.m. when the SUV began to slide, Pennsylvania state police in Warren said. After hitting an embankment, the vehicle vaulted into the air and into a group of trees.
Vanord was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Rachel Jones, 18, was ejected and flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie for treatment. A 16-year-old passenger, who was not identified, also was flown to Hamot with serious injuries.
>Man threatened ex-wife, children, police say
JAMESTOWN -- A South Main Street man is facing five counts of child endangerment after he allegedly threatened to kill his ex-wife and her five children.
Wayne Wright Jr. came to the woman's apartment on Buffalo Street at around 1 a.m. Wednesday and threatened to kick down the door if she didn't answer, according to Jamestown Police.
The woman let Wright in, and police said he threatened her and her children.
Police found Wright hiding under a bed. He also is facing charges of burglary, criminal mischief, endangering, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He is held in City Jail.
>Truck snags wires, cuts power, phone, cable
ASHVILLE -- A tractor-trailer truck snagged wires on North Maple Street during a heavy storm at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, snapping two power poles and blacking out electricity, phone and cable television service in the neighborhood, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies report.
Deputies said strong winds blew the wires down into the path of the truck, driven by Ken Bowers, 43, of Findley Lake, who was unhurt.
