ANDOVER -- An Andover farmer suffered severe burns Monday after gasoline spurted from his tractor and ignited him.
Eldon Mosher of East Valley Road was burned shortly after noon in a blaze that damaged his barn, Andover Fire Chief Bob Bowers said. Mosher was taken to Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, Bowers said, then transferred to an unidentified burn center.
Bowers said Mosher had pulled the spark plugs from a tractor, then turned the engine over. Gasoline spurted onto him from the cylinders, and onto the sparking plug wires.
>Fort Bragg soldier accused of sex abuse
MAYVILLE -- A soldier from the 65th Company Military Police in Fort Bragg, N.C., faces charges in Chautauqua County in connection with his alleged sexual abuse of two minor females, authorities report.
Joshua A. Tilyou, 21, was charged with two counts of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. The Army Criminal Investigation Command assisted in the investigation.
Tilyou is accused of sexually abusing the two girls in July 2005 and December 2006 on West Main Street in Ripley.
Tilyou was arrested in North Carolina on a warrant and waived extradition. Arraigned Saturday, he was taken to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
