Dakich's new home is his old one

Deposed Bowling Green coach Dan Dakich won't have to cry about the officiating at UB anymore because he's returning to his alma mater to serve as Kelvin Sampson's director of operations at Indiana.

Dakich is best known nationally as the guy who held Michael Jordan to 13 points in the Hoosiers' 1984 NCAA Tournament victory over North Carolina. Around here, we'll never forget his rumpled expression on that bizarre night in Alumni Arena in February when he got the infamous delay-of-game technical in the final second after his team prematurely left the floor trying to sneak out of town with a win.

Yassin Idbihi hit two free throws, the Bulls won in overtime and Dakich earned a place in UB lore forever. What a bozo. Stay on the floor for the final six-tenths of a second and none of the wackiness ever happens!
