A brand-new book, oversized and popping with color, celebrates the four-season beauty of Letchworth State Park. The coffee-table-style book, "The Four Seasons of Letchworth," by Concord resident David Lawrence Reade, features photography of Letchworth's 14,350 acres -- more than 100 pictures in all -- and accompanying text. Hot air balloons, the Glen Iris Inn, waterfalls, the historic railroad bridge -- it's all there, dazzlingly displayed. The softcover book sells for $25 and is available in local bookstores as well as at www.buffalobooks.com. It is the first coffee-table book from Western New York Wares Inc.
In other local publishing news, East Aurora resident Anthony Izzo has a new title in the horror genre -- "Evil Harvest," in which a small town in New York State is ravaged by a force, called "Evil," that claims victims from all walks of life, before an effort is made to stop it. The book, $7, is out from Kensington.
