GOING FOR 50 -- What better way to commemorate the 50th Anniversary Allentown Art Festival June 9 and 10 than with an official poster depicting all the official posters since 1958?
Great idea, thought the three community organizations producing the poster -- the Allentown Village Society, the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site Foundation and the Police Athletic League of Buffalo. Just one problem: They only have posters dating to 1973.
So the call has gone out to anyone with Allentown Art Festival posters from 1958 to 1972 to loan them for the poster project and for a summerlong display in the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site that will include all the posters in a review the history of the festival.
Anyone willing to loan their posters should contact the Allentown Village Society at 881-4269. Posters will be returned, along with a complementary copy of the 50th Anniversary poster.
