There are currently eight men's coaching slots open for next season -- Robert Morris (which opened when Mark Schmidt came to St. Bonaventure), Saint Louis, Chicago State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Norfolk State, South Carolina State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UC-Riverside.
Among the 11 openings on the women's side are four big ones -- Michigan State, Penn State, Illinois and Kentucky. Also open are Central Connecticut, Charlotte, Louisiana-Lafayette, Maine, Murray State, Northern Iowa and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Here's the rundown of changes in Big 4 conferences:
MAAC - Men: Iona (fired Jeff Ruland, hired Louisville assistant Kevin Willard). Women: Fairfield (Dianne Nolan resigned, hired Southern Connecticut's Joe Prager).
Atlantic 10 -- Men: St. Bonaventure (fired Anthony Solomon, hired Robert Morris' Mark Schmidt), Saint Louis (fired Brad Soderberg, no replacement named). Women: Duquesne (Dan Durkin resigned, hired former US Olympian and Minnesota Lynx coach Suzie McConnell Serio), Charlotte (Amanda Butler left for Florida, no replacement named).
MAC -- Men: Bowling Green (fired Dan Dakich, hired ex-Siena and Seton Hall coach Louis Orr), Northern Illinois (fired Rob Judson, hired ex-Colorado coach Ricardo Patton). Women: Central Michigan (Eileen Kleinfelter resigned, hired Auburn assistant Sue Guevara).
