Site plan for golf course receives Planning Board OK

LEWISTON -- The final site plan for the $15 million, 18-hole Seneca Nation golf course won approval from the Lewiston Planning Board on Thursday night.

Planners unanimously approved plans for Hickory Stick, billed as a championship-level course that will be built on a 257-acre site along Robert Moses Parkway at Pletcher Road.

Gary Paumen, the project's manager, said traffic studies show no significant impact on traffic patterns. Paumen said ground will be broken in in mid-May, with the course ready by 2009. A 15,000-square-foot clubhouse is still being designed, he added.

The plan's environmental review will be considered for approval by the Town Board on Monday.
