>Man steals woman's van after forcing her inside
LOCKPORT -- An Olcott man was charged Tuesday with forcing a woman into her van, holding her against her will and then stealing the van when the woman jumped out.
Joseph A. Zavella Jr., 42, of Beach Street, was charged by Lockport police with felony second-degree robbery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree criminal mischief, aggravated unlicensed operation and menacing.
A Lower Mountain Road woman said that on Monday night, Zavella forced her from the driver's seat on Ontario Street, drove away with her in the van and refused to stop.
