Forget about Daisuke Matsuzaka's sudden wildness in the fourth inning Tuesday night. The biggest chatter around the Red Sox these days is about the guy who tossed a whole slice of cheese pizza at another fan in the Fenway stands Monday afternoon.
The clip made SportsCenter but the actual NESN broadcast of the scene is hysterical. It all starts with a routine foul pop to left being chased by Angels outfielder Garret Anderson and it turns into the talk of bloggers everywhere. Trust me. Do a google blog search for Red Sox and pizza and look what comes up. My favorite comes from the AOL fanhouse: "As far as I'm concerned, you can shut down the internet. This is the best thing we'll see here all year."
NESN analyst and former Red Sox second baseman Jerry Remy spends several minutes on the video analyzing the pizza toss -- even in slo-mo -- and that caused play-by-play man Don Orsillo to giggle through parts of the top of the eighth.
The video is below. Five minutes of pure hysteria.
